Ascentric Browser Settings

N.B. We recommend the use of Internet Explorer Version 7 with the Ascentric platform

Our portfolio service will work with Internet Explorer 7 with the following settings:-

  • Please enable Programmatic Clipboard Access, to do this click on Tools > Internet Options > Click the Security Tab (2nd from the left) Click on the 'Custom Level' button. Scroll down to the scripting section and find 'Allow Programmatic Clipboard Access' set this to 'Enable' Click on OK, if you receive the message 'Are you sure you want to change the settings for this zone' Click on Yes and then OK to Save
  • Please ensure that your browser is set to check for new copies of the page at every visit. To do this use Tools > Internet Options in the Browsing History Section click the 'Every time I visit the webpage' radio button and then OK to save
  • We also require pop-ups to be allowed from our site, if they are not enabled then follow these instructions Click on Tools > Pop-up Blocker > Disable popup blocker. You maybe prompted to allow pop ups from this site, if so add www.fundsdirect.co.uk and www.ascentric.co.uk into the appropriate box
  • If you use any 3rd party Pop-up blocker software you will need to follow their instructions to allow pop-ups from our website
  • To check your browser's privacy settings, select Tools > Internet Options > Privacy. If privacy is set at high or above, please take the following action to adjust your setting. On the 'Privacy' tab, click on the 'Sites' button and type www.fundsdirect.co.uk into the 'Address of website' text field. Click 'Allow' and select 'OK' and 'Apply' to confirm your changes. Repeat this process for www.ascentric.co.uk.

Our portfolio service will work with Internet Explorer 6 with the following settings:-

  • Our portfolio service will work with Internet Explorer 6 with the default (medium) security settings. If you have changed any of the items listed in the table below they will need to be set back to the default.
  • Please ensure that your browser is set to check for new copies of the page at every visit. To do this use Tools > Internet Options > General > Temporary Internet Files section > Settings button then click the 'Every visit to the page' radio button. We also require pop-ups to be allowed from our site. The default setting may not allow some 3rd party tools to open, in this case you can either hold the Ctrl key when clicking on the button to launch the tool or allow our site to open all Pop-up windows, to achieve this please follow these instructions:-
    • Click on Tools > Pop-up Blocker > Pop-up Blocker Settings…. And then enter www.fundsdirect.co.uk in the 'Address of website to allow:' box and then click the 'Add' button followed by the 'Close' button.
    • Click on Tools > Pop-up Blocker > Pop-up Blocker Settings…. And then enter www.ascentric.co.uk in the 'Address of website to allow:' box and then click the 'Add' button followed by the 'Close' button.
  • If you use any 3rd party Pop-up blocker software you will need to follow their instructions to allow pop-ups from our website.
  • If the portfolio service does not work, then please reset the security settings below to their default values shown in the table below.
