Barmac Asset Management Ltd

Welcome to the Art of Finance - The Barmac Way

Founded in 1997, Barmac Asset Management is an independent, wholly owned boutique investment house. What does this mean …. we have a vested interest in and are committed to our continuing success.  Our directors have a combined investment experience of over 50 years and have built strong relationships with professional advisers across the UK.  Barmac are noted for their investment research which is supplied to a number of City institutions and indeed we identified the impending crisis in the global financial institutions as long back as 2001.

Barmac are safety conscious investment managers and firmly believe that investors are ultimately more worried about the return of their cash, rather than a return on it!

Barmac’s objective is to provide positive absolute returns with low volatility using a risk averse investment strategy.  Our strategy is delivered through a combination of our unique, in house technical analysis, “The Barmac Indicator”, together with a market lead trailing stop loss system.

Barmac’s distinctive investment approach challenges conventional investment theories and the fact that our approach has delivered the returns with an element of safety for our investors in some highly volatile markets, is testament to our rigorous process.

Why appoint a Discretionary Manager?

At Barmac, we’ve recognised that the global stockmarket turbulence of the last couple of years, combined with the move towards a higher qualified advisory community and increased Professional Indemnity insurance premiums, has made it increasingly difficult to downright problematic for Professional Advisers to manage their clients’ money.

Many Professional Advisers are reticent in engaging the services of a Discretionary Manager and have mixed views as to whether the Discretionary Management service offers true value for money for their clients.  Thus, we believe that the key to the successful appointment of a Discretionary Manager rests in the way in which the relationship is structured……thus:

Why should you consider Barmac’s Discretionary Management Portfolio Service?

  • We sit down with you at the outset in order to listen and understand your business and your clients.
  • We will build a range of model portfolios designed to fit your clients’ profile thus we view your input as vital to our investment process.
  • You will have a direct line of communication to Barmac’s directors not only to discuss portfolio construction, but also to discuss the ongoing investment management of your model portfolios and client reporting.
  • We offer a highly competitive flat annual transaction fee based on funds under management.
  • You will have direct access to our OEIC, The Castleton Growth Fund.  The investment process for the Fund is based on our distinctive in-house investment approach and since launch in 2006,  has achieved top quartile ranking over 1, 2 and 3 years.
  • We do not approach private clients direct and ensure that when carrying out our business, conflicts of interest are avoided at all times.
  • We conduct our business in line with established procedures which are reflected openly and accurately and are subject to independent audit and scrutiny.  We consider and place your clients' security as utmost importance to us.
