Isle of Man Assurance currently markets a leading range of innovative inheritance tax (IHT) products. With greater flexibility and enhanced tax savings, when compared to traditional offshore products, these IHT solutions may be appropriate for a range of varying client requirements:

Flexible Inheritor Plan (FIP)

  • Cash based – Diversified cash fund, returning a competitive gross yield.

  • Choice of a Bare Trust (PET), single or joint Settlors, or Flexible Trust (Chargeable Lifetime Transfer).

  • Pays a guaranteed death benefit on the client’s death.

  • Immediate discount for IHT purposes, full guaranteed death benefit outside estate after 7 years.

  • Completely flexible access for the client to all growth and some capital.

  • Permits a client to take regular or one-off withdrawals from the Bond.

  • Income Tax efficient for Beneficiaries.

Estate Control Bond (ECB)

  • IHT free after seven years (growth immediately).

  • Income and capital payable by the Trustees to the Settlor annually if required.

  • Flexible access for the Beneficiaries - Money can be paid during Settlor’s lifetime.

  • The bond can continue post death of the Settlor, allowing flexible exit routes.

  • The bond can be surrendered by the Trustees at any time.

  • Chargeable Lifetime Transfer Trust.

  • Open architecture.

Estate Transfer Bond (ETB)

  • Immediate discount for IHT purposes, fully outside estate after 7 years. Growth outside immediately.

  • Flexible access for the Settlor - income and capital available annually if required.

  • Income Tax efficient for Beneficiaries.

  • Bare Trust (PET), single or joint Settlors.

  • The bond is non-surrenderable, allowing the Settlor continued access for the life of the bond.

  • Open architecture.
